Rashawn Underdue - "Travelle" At the tender age of seven, while entertaining the family at Thanksgiving dinner with his famous Mohammed Ali impersonation, Rashawn quickly learned the pains of show business when he tripped on his two left feet smashing the corner of his right eye socket into the corner of his great-grandmother's glass coffee table. Twenty years and eight stitches later, Rashawn is still a glutton for punishment.
Rashawn's love for the arts was cultivated at Will Rogers Elementary School in the South Bronx, New York City. Here, Rashawn learned that his mother and neighbors were allergic to his trumpet playing. Finding the stage a more suitable medium for his talents, Rashawn starred in 3 kiddy productions.
Rashawn's hunger to dazzle and entertain followed him to high school where he honed and perfected his vocal skills. Rashawn entered and won many Hip-Hop reggae contests throughout NYC. In spite of winning underground recognition and the opportunity to record an album, Rashawn's mother insisted that he complete a college education before he took the road to stardom.
This desire to inspire the masses followed Rashawn to college where he not only hosted his own radio show - he also found time between his busy Business Management/Information Science double major to join the theater club and assist the theater department. This is where Rashawn's soul chose its path.
After three years in corporate America and mid-stream in an MBA program, Rashawn entered the International Model and Talent Association's annual talent search in NYC where he joined the ranks of young actors like Ashton Kutcher and Katie Holmes by sweeping his division and winning Talent of the Year 2001.
Since then Rashawn has relocated to LA where he studies drama and film with Gregory Bach and comedy and stage with Art Evans. He has booked two national commercials, starred in 5 independent films, 4 plays, and a few very small soap spots. Rashawn is steadily working towards becoming a great film and stage actor and hopes to avoid glass tables in the future.
Jeanne Mount - "Miss Jenny"Jeanne Mount took up acting because she wanted to be somebody else. "I took an acting class, and I had to be somebody else. It's a great feeling," she says. "Better than singing." Singing was her first career--she traveled all over the U.S. with large bands and in nightclubs. "With singing, you can't make mistakes before a live audience. They hear every false note," she says, "but with acting, you can have as many takes to get it right as the director will allow. And the best part of it is that the director instructs you in his vision of the film--you don't have to come up with one yourself. Not that you can't add to a film in significant ways--you can. And that's one of the biggest challenges--to add to a film in a significant way that doesn't disrupt the overall vision of the writer and director, but instead, complements it." An actress whom I particularly admire who does this in almost every instance is Meryl Streep.
Jeanne has acted in approximately 15 short films, and two commercials since she took up acting two years ago. Her ambition is to be a TV series regular--to portray somebody's rich aunt, or a top deputy public defender, or an alien from another world. "Being an alien from another world would be an exciting acting opportunity," she says enthusiastically.
